Twin Bridges Historic Round Barn

The historic Round Barn at Twin Bridges offers a variety of uses including hosting weddings, large parties, smaller meetings, and retreats as well. Built in 1882 by Noah Armstrong, for the Doncaster Stable and Stud Farm. The original barn had 3 floors including an automatic windmill-driven water system, feeding chutes, an indoor track, and stalls for 24 thoroughbreds opening directly out to their paddocks.

Armstrong’s horse, Lord Raglan, took third place in the 1883 Kentucky Derby. Armstrong’s other horse, Spokane, was born in the Round Barn, and won the Kentucky Derby in 1889.

In 1933, the Doncaster Ranch and its Round Barn were bought by the Bayers family of Montana. The Bayers family raised purebred Hereford cattle and bulls. Frequently, auctions were held at the round barn to sell their cattle to a variety of states as well as Hungary and Africa.

After 2 years of construction, the Round Barn had been beautifully restored for events. Ceilings were opened, lighting added, restrooms, dressing rooms, large catering kitchen, a bar, and visual equipment were all included in the renovations.

Today, the Round Barn includes a large dance floor and ample interior space which can accommodate up to 250 guests. The Round Barn offers a cottage along the river for the bride to use as a dressing room.
