This cabin has a spring-fed water source that is pumped into a 1200 gal holding tank and gravity-fed to the cabin. There are some areas of the cabin that are not completed.
The rustic and beautiful guest cabin was built in 2004 by the owner who milled the logs himself, this is a seasonal cabin that comes with a generator and solar panels for power, a wood cook stove, electric refrigerator, propane on-demand water heater, and a wood-burning stove for heat. This cabin has a 60 GPM well for its water source and more.
The Louden Family entertained approximately 30 guests in this cabin one year for Thanksgiving, what a wonderful memory for all, talk about going back in time! Enjoy horseback riding, snowmobiling, side by siding, hunting deer, elk, and waterfowl in your own back yard, or hunt on the nearby Lost Trail National Wildlife Reserve consisting of over 8K acres.
The original homestead built back in 1910 was dismantled and the wood was eventually sold to build a rustic-looking building in Kalispell. The old log home on the property still has original boards from 1910 and was built onto by the owners using milled logs from Bear Springs Ranch. While this log home is no longer livable, it is a piece of history that belongs on this ranch, along with the multiple antique farming implements from when the property was homesteaded.
Bear Springs Ranch is located minutes from McGregor Lake and the Lodge, Thompson Chain of Lakes, and many other nearby lakes. If you love to Fly Fish, the Fisher River and Kootenai River are less than an hour away. The Kootenai River is home to Rainbows, cutthroats, Bull Trout, and an occasional Brown Trout.
There are multiple fly fishing guides nearby, ready to take you on the adventure of a lifetime down the Kootenai River. If you are lucky enough to have your own small private aircraft, you could easily create a runway on the 120 acres of level pasture ground on Bear Creek Ranch or utilize the Carson Field Airport in Lost Prairie, just minutes from the ranch.
